The Earth Science program at Laurentian is special because Sudbury has world class geology, world class mines, and a world class learning environment. Sudbury's unique location allows students to see fascinating geology impacts without even leaving the campus. 23 kilometres (14 mi) of diverse hiking, biking, and jogging trails are found in the Lake Laurentian Conservation Area near downtown.
